I am a contemporary mixed media artist working across textiles, ceramics, photography, and drawing. My practice is intuitive as creating becomes a way to process, understand, and reconnect. Much of my work explores themes of trauma and healing, using material to hold, express, and transform difficult experiences. I consider the processes and materials I use in my artwork and am drawn to those that are repetitive and tactile, emulating the care, repair, and resilience my work reflects. I enjoy working with textiles as a process, as this expresses ideas of comfort, protection, and memory, often carrying a quiet emotional weight. I enjoy the duality of ceramics as a process, as I believe that the fragility of the material also reflects a silent strength due to its endurance and its ability to change before deciding on a shape that reflects longevity. While photography and drawing become tools for reflection, capturing fragments that are revisited, reworked, and reimagined. My process is slow and exploratory. I allow my materials to intuitively guide me, building work through layering and a consideration of the senses. In doing so, I create pieces that sit between vulnerability and stability, where something fractured can also be something mended. At its core, my practice is about creating space for acknowledgement, reflection, and the possibility of healing.
